Tennis Elbow

Trigger Points in the Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus/Brevis and the Supinator, are the primary causes of the pain in the lateral part of the elbow upon full extension of the arm known as Tennis Elbow.  While this affliction’s common name suggests racquet sports as the origin, swimming, climbing, and the playing of string instruments like guitar and violin can also cause Tennis Elbow.  Any repetitive action that can over exert or strain the Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus/Brevis and the Supinator can bring about Tennis Elbow.  It can also be caused by a direct hit to the lateral part of the elbow, or a severe sudden pull or extension of the elbow, which would also strain and tear the muscles and tendons.

NeuroMuscular Therapy can relieve the symptoms of Tennis Elbow by releasing the Active Trigger Points, relaxing the associated Muscles, and speeding the healing of any torn tissue.  It can also help in locating any Secondary or Satellite Trigger Points that may perpetuate the problem.  If the source of the Tennis Elbow is from a continual action, finding an alternative way to perform this action or reducing the action may be necessary until the muscles are fully healed.
