Insomnia

Approximately  50% of Adults in the U.S. suffer from sleep difficulties, with 20-36% struggling for a year or longer.  One out of Three Adults has Insomnia, though only 20% report it to their Health Care Providers.  Insomnia can cause extreme fatigue, problems with concentration and can adversely affect a person’s mood and health.  While insomnia may be a symptom on its own, it also can be connected to a long list of healthcare problems.

Swedish Massage is an intelligent, healthy and substance free choice to help the scores of people that have Insomnia.  Swedish Massage has been proven to improve sleep and increase levels of a Neurotransmitter called Serotonin, an extremely important endorphin that is essential to our survival.  Serotonin has been shown to play a key role in affecting our mood, behavior, body temperature, physical coordination, appetite, and sleep.  Another way Swedish Massage helps to relieve Insomnia by promoting Sleep is by deactivating the Reticular Alarm System and turning dominance from the Sympathetic to the Parasympathetic Nervous System, the part of our Brain directly responsible for Relaxation and Rejuvenation.
