Swedish Massage lowers Blood Pressure by Dilating Blood Vessels and Increasing Circulation.  Both Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure Readings decline following Swedish Massage and remain lower for up to 40 minutes.  There is also a reduction in Anxiety and Stress Hormones. Researchers from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, found that participants who received Swedish massage had a significant decrease in the hormone arginine-vasopressin.
